Metal coins samples

We have received samples, later than we expect. They are not acceptable (some photos below). 

Chinese factory sent us new one (after changes), they will arrive next week. 

We hope that this delay won't affect the final date of shipping the game. 

We will post an update after we receive new samples.

As you already now we had serious problems with contact with the factory in China. We spoke with a lawyer about that difficult situation. He sent his representative to China, who visited the factory. That resulted in quick response, here you can see it: 

 As you can see, we were promised that the metal and plastic will be ready to send by 15 May.

We do not know why we have to proof metal coins again... but it seems that we will have to do this. We hope that there won't be any delays and that we can accept samples fast so that 15 May is a real day of shipping components to us. 

If they send us components according to the e-mail, we will receive them after 8-13 weeks (shipping + custom duties). After we get the components from custom we will send them to factory in Poland. In that time the factory in Poland will produce cardboard and other components.

After the factory in Poland receive components from China they can start assembling the games. It should take them about 3-4 weeks. 

Then we will be ready to pack and send the games to you. It should take about 3-4 weeks. You should receive games in 1-6 weeks after that, depending where you live.

 We are very sorry for this situation the factory from China was recommended  by other kickstarter publisher who had no problems with them. As you might know we chose another factory for our next projects, and there were no problems at all.

The Chinese manufacturer finally wrote back

What we know:

Our manufacturer was on a bussiness trip after the Chinese New Year. Within a week of today, we will receive information about the production: When to pick up plastic minis, metal and custom dice. We asked for photos of the finished production.

Sorry for the lack of communication. We are constantly planning what to do, how to alleviate this situation and whether to decide to continue cooperation with the factory. These are not easy decisions and can decide about the future of the company - that is why we ask you for patience. We will try to answer all comments and messages in the coming days. We also care about the game being produced and sent to the backers as soon as possible. Next projects are waiting!

The current situation with a factory in China and production

Hello conquerors of the galaxy,

We know that we haven't informed you for a long time. Too long. Unfortunately, we could not get more information from the factory. In phone conversations, our requests to contact the sales maneger are ignored. He is eternally absent. 

We know that there are holidays right now in China (until February 20). Until then, we will not know anything.

Here is the timeline we have put together if production ends in March and will be sent to us immediately:

1. The end of production of plastic and metal - we assume that it will be just after the Chinese new year

2. Acceptance of plastic and metal components (sent by air mail, 1-2 weeks)

3. Transport from China to Poland (by train, 5-6 weeks)

4. During transport, the factory in Poland will start the production of cardboard and add-ons. We have the files ready. We're just waiting for a signal from China.

5. Clearing customs for goods from China + transport to the factory (3-6 weeks)

6. Game packaging (components from China + cardboard) (4-5 weeks)

7. Pickup by the logistics company, shipment to hubs (6-10 weeks)

8. Shipment from hubs to backers (1-2 weeks)

We have a very big problem, because we have already paid for the production, and we can not see the results. This is one of the reasons why we have not spoken for a long time. We do not have much idea what we can do to somehow influence the factory in China. Flying to China will not help much. In addition, these are very large costs.

We have a plan that if there is no contact after the New Chinese Year, we will not be able to work together anymore and transfer cooperation to another factory taking molds and what has already been produced.

If you have an idea about what else we can do, we are open to any sugestions.

An example of Murphy's Law at work. Turns out it was enough to write an update and the next day we got photos from the production:

The orange color of the dices does not look good, but we believe it depends on the monitor / display on the phone. On each device in our office the color looked a bit different.

 
 

These are not all photos of ready minis, but not everything has been done. Quuylto and Xemh minis are still to be made.

It's a relief that production is moving forward. Very, very slowly but at least we finally got some proof that they work on it.

Now that the manufacturer has finally responded with something, we hope that everything will go smoother from now on and that communication and progress of production will be maintained.
